It’s our Precision Shift™ mechanical fastening system. It brings together quality insulation from Georgia Foam and vinyl siding from Vytec in an unbeatable system designed to go up straight with fewer hands, then perform better because the vinyl floats freely from the insulation.
Free-floating vinyl makes it easy to install--especially when joining ends—and it allows moisture to escape as it breathes. So the siding resists warping, oil canning and shadow lines at seams.
But Brigade Board also presents a solid, impact-resistant surface because the vinyl siding settles snuggly against the insulation, contoured to the vinyl siding profile.
The GFI insulation used on the back of Brigade Board has an R-value rating of 4.0 per inch of thickness and insulated siding profiles with an R-value of up to 3.0. It is also treated with a non-toxic additive that repels the infiltration of termites and other boring insects without harming your home or the environment.
 When installed correctly, the expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam backing in the new Brigade Board™ insulated siding system is an ENERGY STAR® qualified product. Installers and builders can present ENERGY STAR® credentials and energy-efficient performance to homeowners when they specify Brigade Board. This addresses growing concerns about green building, conservation and personal health.

Here’s how it works.
The Brigade Board insulated siding system attaches foam to vinyl siding with patent pending mechanical fasteners every 16 inches (A). The fastener allows the vinyl siding to shift freely so it’s easier to trim overlapping ends without needing to scrape glue (B), but it’s also a huge advantage with temperature changes and in keeping moisture from accumulating (C). Once installed, you’ve got a solid wall that’s tough and resilient (D).
